“I would love the opportunity to serve District 5 on the City Council. Decatur is a great place to call home and raise your family. I believe that in order to capitalize on the opportunities before us, it will take a bold vision and bold leadership. Through my work in the private sector, I have had the opportunity to meet with businesses and people all across our country. I have seen thriving and growing cities, and I have seen how local governments can promote that growth, and also inhibit it. I have also learned that real leadership is serving our team members and helping them achieve success. This should be the same approach from the City Council. We should not micro-manage departments, but serve and support them. The Council should cast a bold vision for Decatur, and work tirelessly to achieve it. I believe that my experience in leadership and financial services will be an asset to the City Council.” – Jacob Ladner

“Our city is a wonderful place to call home, raise a family and work. As a father, I want to make sure that my children have a city that they can be proud of. Then maybe one day, they will want to move back to Decatur to raise their families as I did. We must preserve our traditional values while preparing for the future of our great city.” Jacob Ladner
